Numerous fatalities caused by explosion at Ariana Grande concert in England
Police reported a number of fatalities from a Monday night explosion that rocked an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England.
A statement from the Greater Manchester Police posted a statement on Twitter saying “there are a number of confirmed fatalities and others injured.”
Britain’s ITV Granada, the commercial Independent Television Network station for Manchester, also reported, citing eyewitnesses, that a bomb went off inside the arena, near the box office.
“People covered in blood [are] leaving the building,” reported Michael Worrall, a presenter and producer for Granada.
Adam McClean, another Granada reporter, reported from the Arena that “paramedics are running towards the building. Police are calling for ‘walking wounded’ to identify themselves.”
Video posted from inside the concert hall by the official Twitter account of Ms. Grande’s tour shows panicked concertgoers reacting to a loud bang.
