Under international law that is a terrorist attack.

true but long ago - since that time iran changed a lot and after khomeini iran is slowly becomming some kind of cilvilized (in relation to many other middle east and african countries)
Quote:
Iran arms Hezbollah and the Houthi and others fighting proxy wars against US allies.
From the Iranian POV; the US is arming rebels and sovereign governments fighting against Iran's interests.
Persia has been a conquered nation many times so there paranoia is somewhat understandable.
My enemy's enemy is my friend is a policy for continued conflict -- all sides seem to want to take that route.

also correct - but if you look into the real islam conflict you going to realize that the whole thing is based on a conflict between shiites and sunnis - about 80-90% of the arabian world are sunnis and iran is one of the 3 shiite countries. in all other countries shiites are are a minority.
with other words: iran have learned that they can not survive without the help from the western world and thatīs why they stopped with all that hate after khomeini.
if you ever talked to people from iran you can also see that they are MUCH more educated and worldopen even women are going to univeritsy there while it is a nogo in many sunite muslim countries.
so in fact they CAN be an important country for the war against terror - hamas is a terror organisation but they were always only acting in the middle east and they do not have any reason for terror in the western world.
it would be a fatal mistake to undermine the power of such a country and make them look like enemies. if they are wiped out the terror have no other target as the western world and israel.
