The story broke on April 1st, but he wasn't fired until the 19th after some 50 sponsors bailed from his show. After the story broke his ratings actually went up (which says a lot about the type of people watching his show), but when sponsors started to bail on the show that is when talk of him being fired came out.

Fox would have gladly put up with some negative press and weather the storm had the advertisers not left. Money talks.
I disagree, Oreilly would have regained his sponsors or gotten new ones with his views in a matter of weeks. He had the most popular show on tv at 8 pm and they simply couldn't cover them up anymore, the latest victims wouldn't take settlement hush money so they went public and then they were forced to fire him. The others took the cash and went away.

ALso if money talks for Fox, then why did they let their most popular person on the entire network at the time Megyn Kelly leave? It's been confirmed it was simply money to her, she said NBC offered a lot more than Fox would. If money talks, she brought in tons but they wouldn't pay her what NBC offered. Don't say they are sexist, because you just said money talks to Fox more than anything else.

Everyone is jumping for joy that fox news didn't finish 1st in ratings for the first time in 17 years.............you get the gravity of that statement? One month they didn't win out of 17 years and all the liberals are jumping for joy like they are done lol. No network, can maintain every single month on top ratings like they did and not have a temporary ratings bump. They will be back in first place like always when the next ratings come out. They are dealing with a lot of top talent leaving though so it's to be expected they have a one minor drop. They have to replace, the top people in all of news, Megyn Kelly, Bill Oreilly...........tough shoes to follow and tough to replace immediately. They will be back. There are more conservatives in this nation than anyone realized.........hence the complete Republican control of all aspects of local, state, federal gov't. Fox news is their only source that isn't liberally slanted so they will definitely be back, there is no other option for conservatives to get their news. MSNBC has finished dead last for 15 years, and they have one month where they didnt' finish last and they are acting like they just beat the universe LOL.
