It's Portland. It's a cool place to live, but we do have some craziness. Not too long ago the city of Portland had new training for all teachers on how to not be racist when they teach. One of the examples was a math problem that said: "If Billy has three peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and he gives one to Sally, how many will he have left?" They said the question was racist because there might be kids in the class who are from cultures where sandwiches are not a typical food so they could be offended by it.
