The UK created it's own baggage from the British Empire days. Every nation has legacy issues. They may not be your personal fault Jel. My legacy burden is the near genocide of the Native Americans --however-- I or my family forefathers (3/4) are not directly responsible. The first arrivals to the USA were in 1878 -- yet I do feel some remorse as a US citizen and bear the burden and bad Karma to some extent (collectivity).
crucifissio -- Serbia is not getting any direct war reparations -- deal with it. Should have thought about that when your countrymen were killing the people that you hate.
If you don't want unskilled immigrants or need lower skilled immigrants -- don't allow them in -- that should be your national prerogative. However, don't blame immigrants for your own failures.
As far as the land space and population density of the USA -- why do you think we came here?
