There is no watering down of these writings if a person believes they are the word of god. Of course it's pretty much proven that if there is a god no religion has been able to speak to him. So your friends believe in the teachings of Mohammed and all the following liars or they don't. Ask your friends how many have them marry outside their sect of Islam and how many married non-Muslims. And if not, why not andwhat would be their reaction.
I have no problem with people who want to believe in lies. But do not try to lie about what your books of lies orders you to do.
