There has not been one terrorist incident related to a person traveling into the US from the countries Trump's EO attempted to ban in 5 months now. If more scrutiny is given to vetting individuals' various travel visas, from suspect countries, that may be harboring terrorists -- there is no legal issue with that -- and so far that is working.
2. The US Supreme Court is not a simple us v. them political arena.
Politicians throughout American history have tried and failed to politicize the SCOTUS
The Appellate Courts did not rule against Trump directly, they actually ruled on the constitutionality of an executive order issued by the executive branch of government.
I highly doubt there is any reason for recusal. Your argument is a red herring.
The travel ban is a political gesture by Trump for his Islamophobic fans and their simple mindedness.
