There are new ICOs

The blockchain is evolving and there will be winners and losers.

The idea is of a digital reserve currency and some transactional stability. Bancor may not fly but the idea is good. Make digital funny money a medium of trade that is stable within expected currency limits is the, or should be, the long term goal.

If speculators, like commodities contract speculators, become a fair market price stabilization scheme -- that's OK too.

The potential of a digital currency to circumvent central banks and credit card oligopolies in global trade is where this thing should be headed. The true cost of cashing out into spendable local currency will be an issue unless vendors will barter for these "digital markers" this is what they really are -- scrip. Scrip is a debt certificate that is tradable for real world goods. Scrip has been used for 100's of years during economic collapses and wartime periods mainly when normal government treasuries were disrupted or not credible any longer.

If a digital currency can really be used like cash -- then banks and government central banks may become dinosaurs or find ways to adapt.

Once the opportunists and scammers get out of the digital currency markets -- some global blockchain monetary exchange instrument 'may' take root in the mass market -- and not until then.
