The science of Climate Change is really complex and detailed, and there are industries out there who don't want you to understand what is happening, and try to dumb-it down, and spoon-feed people the wrong information so they just keep doing what they're doing and looking the other way. That's not how it works. The plan is to encourage growth in green businesses, and discourage growth in polluting businesses.
Companies who pollute more, pay more. Companies that pollute less, pay less. Companies that go green or can put measures in place to stop or reverse pollution, can get some of that money as subsidies or tax credits.
What you may not realize is that the cost of gasoline is more than what you pay at the pump, but that cost is being hidden from you, and damaging the planet.
