Great. America cuts off Chinese trade then China calls in their US Treasury bonds. Trump says NO WAY! The US reneges on repayment (by some EO?) then the US dollar crashes and we all go into a economic depression over a bad mouthed fat-ass boy?
That outcome is not that unlikely under your scheme.
Maybe, I am wrong -- do you think that is an outlandish outcome?
Trump playing gunboat diplomacy is school-kid, hot head diplomacy -- he's not going to scare the Chinese and just end up with a plane forced down like Bush did in 2001. Then Trump will have to back down, humiliated. Or, Trump the Useless will start a shooting war we cannot win because his ego is bruised.
Never fight a war you cannot win. Warfare has been reduced to petty squabbles fought in weak countries for a good reason.
