I think it is political, as in, if Clinton had been elected Sanders may have been able to pull strings and force her to soft peddle the investigation.
The whole thing started before Trump, and Trump couldn't care less about it.
This is a clear case of "is there evidence of a crime" or is it a civil matter. In a civil case, no one would press it because essentially there is no plaintiff.
The grand jury is in place because of the very public nature of the defendant. The prosecutor knows his ass is on the line unless the case is airtight and he wins. Sanders will come after them full force with the political witch hunt accusation, though that is clearly absolute bullshit.
Actually the Sanders family appears to be unified in its philosophy:
Promise everything to get what you want and have no fucking idea of how you'll deliver. Hey, don't feel bad angry white young male socialists! Even a bank believed the bullshit. That you were fooled is no big deal.
If Sanders had kept his mouth shut, we might have president Clinton right now.
