Do you see the problem?

He stated the reason. He ran her tags and nothing came up. It's a problem between states and municipalities. That has happened to me before as well. The local municipality doesn't update their system enough (most likely on purpose). I usually buy and sell 3-4 cars a year so my tags are always in a state of confusion. I've had cops pull up tags from cars I hadn't owned in months. That's also why they ask for your registration despite already having your tag info pulled up on their computer before they even get out of the car. In one screwed up instance I got pulled over twice on one week. Well the first cop forgot to give me my registration back. The second showed my tags as another vehicle so we spent about an hour as he tried to find a way to claim it was stolen because I didn't have my registration..
