How many people were abused? How many of them struggle that much decades after the abuse? Some are weaker than others.
Anyway what you say is not that he was not a loser.
What you say that he was a loser, but justified (aka abuse).
You can also say that it is insensitive to conclude that he was a loser of life.
But you can not say that he was not a loser based on that description, because it would be just wow. I mean look at your description as decide does it describe winner?
So please separate 3 things:
1. It is insensitive and not PC top state a fact of him being a loser. I agree.
2. He was a loser. That is just cold hard fact.
3. It may have not been his fault, aka abuse. But nobody is claiming that it necessary was.
