You forget that parliament elections happens every few years. So they may lose that power over judges after next election.
Basically this would be ANY (that is elected at that time) parliament power over judges.
As for comfort - there is actual "dictator" in Europe, in Belarus. Does not seem to bother anyone much, so Polish "dictator" would be ok as well.
By the way previous and legendary "dictator" in Singapore was the one who made Singapore great again.
If the direction is right, "dictatorship" is often way faster and better than all talk no action democracy.
That being said - nothing like that applies to Poland.
