The reason isn't as simple as that.
Today Automation and Globalisation have removed so many well-paid jobs that what's left are low-paid jobs and they are getting fewer. People aren't generating enough consumption to produce enough home grown jobs to balance out the system. So it's illegals, legal migrants and now citizens of the country who suffer. This is why the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting screwed.
The problem is the UK is losing the wrong people and not replacing them with the same calibre of people. There's a huge shortage of doctors, nurses, teachers, scientists, professionals, etc. The brain drain is real, it's people fed up with living in the UK. Being replaced by mostly low-skilled workers. If they were of the same calibre, there would be no effect from the brain drain.
And for the record, I don't care if it's white Australian, NZ, Canadian, etc low-skilled worker. He's not welcome. And I don't care if he's a black or brown high skilled worker. He is welcome. I judge men by what they bring to the table. Unlike other racist like you who care first about a man's colour.
