As water warms up, it expands, taking up more space. 2 degrees is nothing to a single gallon of water, but to the Atlantic ocean for example that contains about 82 Billion Billion gallons of water, warmer water means lots of expanding water, and lots of flooding of coastal towns.
This tiny increase in the average temperature also means that heat waves last longer, creating food shortages and drought, etc. Plus, a whole lot of other problems that I'm sure you've read about.
It's a really serious problem. I think there are lots of jobs and big money to be made helping scientists, people and companies find solutions to this problem. The nicest payoff of course will be a beautiful green and blue planet.
Cheers!
