As water warms up, it expands, taking up more space. 2 degrees is nothing to a single gallon of water, but to the Atlantic ocean for example that contains about 82 Billion Billion gallons of water, warmer water means lots of expanding water, and lots of flooding of coastal towns.
This tiny increase in the average temperature also means that heat waves last longer, creating food shortages and drought, etc. Plus, a whole lot of other problems that I'm sure you've read about.
It's a really serious problem. I think there are lots of jobs and big money to be made helping scientists, people and companies find solutions to this problem. The nicest payoff of course will be a beautiful green and blue planet.
Cheers!

Did any of you read that "report"? Or at least see where I quoted it as saying that even IF mankind STOPS ALL FOSSIL FUEL USE...it makes ZERO difference.
The report actually tells you that man has no ability to change it at all.
I'm not the one saying it...that report is saying it.
As for the Earth becoming unlivable for humans at 2 degrees warmer?
BULLSHIT.
See this pic:
Looks scary!
Except that "high" mark in 2004? It's only about 0.15 degrees warmer than it was in the year 1000 AD
And guess what? Humans lived. And they did it WITHOUT air conditioning, refrigerators, etc.
