First, prove it. Post a link to that information here please because I would like to read it.
Next, a typical solar panel pays for itself within 2 years of its carbon cost, as of 2015, meaning all the energy it produces after that is "free". In 2017, new technologies such as solar tiles, use alot less materials and energy during the production phase.

To BUILD them, maybe. Solar panels are made with a stew of toxic chemicals, but then again so is your phone, computer, car and even your home.
To SUPPORT it however is another story. Gas and oil require manufacturing, transportation via trains and pipelines, and storage underground (for gas stations). There are so many possibilities for disasters with gas and oil and disasters happen daily with this form of energy, causing an obscene amount of pollution. How many disasters have there been thanks to Solar panels?
