While 61% may be high, is it really a terrible idea to tax things like this? They tax booze, cigarettes, pot, pretty much anything bad for you. Sugar is something that, in excess, can be very damaging to a person. Why not have a sin tax on it? So long as the money goes to something good, which likely isn't the case here.
