Girls have things they'll excel in...but combat would not be one of those things. Just the physicality of carrying the gear has to be much tougher. Even an exceptionally strong female is only equal to an average strength guy.
That's not to say there aren't some women who would do better in combat and if they pass the physical requirements then fine. But just letting them in wholesale is a bad idea.
