Yeah drying them is easiest solution if you have heaps. Pity your diabetic they make great jam and relishes. Each recipe begins with.. 8 cups of sugar.

Take a couple of kg of them, split them sprinkle with brown sugar and roast over an open flame, pack a jar half full of this and then fill it with cheap port. Put lid on and store in a kitchen cupboard for a week then strain it and bottle. Roasted Fig Liqueur.... fucking insane on icecream :P
