He doesn't understand US politics.
There is no left and right there are only politicians paid for by huge corporations to represent their interests. Why do you think they donate so much money?
During the time this has happened jobs are lost by the millions, allowed in millions of migrants, lowered wages, became a massive importer of cheap goods made for those corporations by China and other Third World Nations, created a new superpower China, that has a shit record on human rights and is challenging the US in the region and created a mountain of debt.
It doesn't matter who is in power they both work to the same tune.
