ARCore is really about SnapChat & SnapChat Spectacles, Google Glass and Google's $30 billion offer to buy Snapchat.

Google Glass was way ahead of it's time and a huge failure & huge public backlash with people wearing Google Glass getting beaten by people not wanting to be recorded.

The endgame in the next 20 years is to ditch phones and replace them with AR eyewear (wareables). AR is a lot about sensing the environment and the interface reacting to it and giving data to you like how much farther to your destination, an ad for a new restaurant you're about to pass, etc.

SnapChat made AR cool with their custom lenses and masks to "hide" your face. SnapChat has effectively trained the next generation to be cool with AR. SnapChats Spectacles were a huge hit, and cool. They're a dumbed down Google Glass.

So yeah AR porn would be interesting and I can think of some cool realistic applications of AR in porn, but ARCore's release is more about Google saying we're coming after you SnapChat, sell out while you can. Google doesn't need a bunch of people making crap in ARCore but they do need another killer app to make their AR cooler than SnapChat.

Pokemon go is another example of AR using your phone and what happened? Public backlash because of people looking at their phone and getting robbed, getting in accidents, etc. More proof that wareables are the answer, not a handheld device. Google will make it happen one way or another.
