Immigration from Europe changed the US so badly it was radically restricted in 1924. This is why part of my family immigrated to Canada -- they were welcomed there.
Russian immigration caused all kinds of problems in the USA.
I don't think that makes all Eastern European or Russian immigrants bad -- some of their cultural aspects are certainly foreign to US values.
Bigots will be bigots ...
