wrong. Merkel said exactly that when it started. She invited them all to Europe, not only germany, because when one of the leading figures of the EU says this, it is policy for all of the EU. None of the EU countries could do their own border controls because our 'leaders' are all EU lapdogs, except for Hungary. Their leader is the only one with balls, which is why EU officials are now starting to demonize him as well. An EU official said that he should be stopped - a democratically elected leader chosen by the people of Hungary, and the EU wants him gone. Sickening, disgusting and ignoring democracy - as usual:

Since the open invitation, literally millions of immigrants have come to the EU and turkey. In 2015 and 2016 roughly 1,4 million to the EU (recorded ones that is!! So a lot more in reality) and til now over 3 million alone in turkey, of which a large number will eventually travel further into the EU as well.
You're comparing Canada to Europe. Canada doesn't border islamic war zones and other islamic countries full of people abusing the refugee crisis to go to your country for money. When you border countries that share your values, immigration can let a country help flourish. But you are comparing apples and oranges - this migrant crisis is already having the opposite effects, from general tension between a tolerant culture and an intolerant culture in every way, to multiple terror attacks killing people across Europe. How flourishing.
