For sure, nobody would buy real beds if sofa beds were as good
The sofa function is inferior as well, since it has to be a sleeping function, the sofa is pretty hard. Not as actual sofas that are soft and comfy, sofa bed's sofa function is pretty stiff.
Do not buy sofa bed if you don't have to due to limited space.
