You cannot scare Kim Jung Un into submission. Trump's STUPID threats against Un do nothing but make the US look ridiculous.
What Trump needs to do is consult with real experts and get a super-qualified ambassador to NK to talk with Un and work out some kind of deal, relax tensions, and find ways to normalize things between NK and SK, and NK and the world, through calm, normal, diplomatic means.

I think a lot of people don't realize something. I may be wrong about this, but I would go further than what you described and say that a nuclear battle on any scale would stop civilization dead in its tracks. I'm not saying it would be the end of the world, but it would be a different world drastically for years after -- or forever. Or maybe if it wasn't a big enough event to wipe out lots of people, it would bring on end times somewhere down the road soon after.
Nuclear weapons are there to not be used....ever. Even an asshole like Putin knows that.
Trump is dying to use some tactical nukes because he thinks they're cool.
