They just used Manafort as the means to get to Trump. If during a tiral it is discovered a cop used an illegal means to arrest a subject such as planting evidence or illegal wiretap then how do you think that would play out in court? As in many other cases the charges get thrown out. Then the cop has to answer for his criminal behavior.
