Comedy shows it's a different story. They wrap their propaganda up as "harmless comedy", the audience (the dumb ones that is) fail to identify it as the severe propaganda it is so their guard is down, and they subconsciously soak up all this propaganda while sheepishly laughing.
That's why in an other thread recently I called these shows "the Trojan horse of propaganda".

Ok, but were these same 'dumb ones' you speak of going to figure out what is going on in politics or issues regardless? of course not. At it's very least it is spreading awareness of particular political interests that would be otherwise ignored by the younger demographics. When I was younger the only show out there that was even watchable with regards to politics was bill maher's politically incorrect. The only reason it was watchable was because he is a comedian and often had others on as well. When he got too serious it got dull. I guess that hasn't changed all that much today really.
No newscast or comedy show will make people well informed and intelligent on these matters, that comes before that if at all.
