Not knowing history or how the anthem came about is disrespectful. The anthem has nothing to do with our battle for independence, which btw started from people protesting the unfair treatment and taxes from the crown. hmmm, imagine that.
The anthem came from a poem written about the battle at Fort McHenry during the war of 1812 and how the flag flew high during the defense and victory.
Considering the poem/anthem has a verse about no one saving slaves except their grave, followed up with the land of the free and home of the brave, can anyone with a rational mind really expect the decedents of said slaves to really stand and respect the song?
But I digress, as the current protests are not aimed at the flag, the anthem or the military, but instead aimed at this country's long history of police brutality.
