God, I can't believe I'm actually defending Trump. Ugh.
On the other hand, the fact that he only phoned the widow after being called out about it by a reporter, now THAT is indefensible!

Everything he did about this, from to finish, was disrespectful.
Instead of making a phone call and then being there when the bodies landed in the United States, he did... NOTHING. He was called out on it, turned it into a political football, and only then did he make the phone call - and he fucked that up too. Everything he did here was wrong and disrespectful at every turn.
This is politics 101. When something like this happens you call the family, release a statement, greet the bodies when they arrive at Dover, and then invite the family / spouse to the White House. Obama was there when the bodies came back from Benghazi. On the other hand, Trump did NOTHING, tried to correct it after the fact, and then fucked that up.
He doesn't care about the military. He was draft dodger.
