I am sure there are some cases of under 18 marriages -- however I myself have never encountered any person with that personal history and have no personal knowledge of any instance -- so it must be pretty rare.
If a seventeen year old boy knocks up his sixteen year old GF I would rather see them get married if that is what they want rather than her becoming a single mother or having a abortion coerced upon her. That is the intent of the law and not its perversion of forcing underage persons to marry by parental coercion.
