Today most men are disrespectful assholes. I came from the generation that did such things as hold open a door for a woman, tipped their hats, etc. Today it's a generation that treats women like shit and believes that all women are just fuck-holes. The entire concept of "There's an appropriate time and place" is sorely lacking in today's society.
