- A person who is dishonorably discharged from the US Military should not be allowed to own or possess firearms.
- Persons with Class A misdemeanor of felony convictions should not be allowed to own or possess firearms.
Considering there are 80 million or more firearms in the USA and maybe a few thousand are used unlawfully -- that is a very small percentage used by a very small criminal element and a deranged few.
3,000+ people died by airplane attack on 9/11. We didn't ban airplanes even though they could be used as a deadly weapon.
Too bad one of those Texans in that church was not armed --but that is another argument. The shooter was a coward -- he chose to kill people that would most likely be unarmed. End of story.
