What pissed me off so bad is I was told over and over "there's nothing we can do," which I still don't accept. What they meant was there was nothing they were willing to do.
It's all good though. I found a dozen or so uncashed checks and sent them back and they are sending me a new check tomorrow, so all water under the bridge.
But now I know what CAN happen, and there are no assurances it won't happen again.

kind of weird. i don't think you can get chargeback on fraud. you need to find out what bank did this. if it was even true. i would ask on findlaw
