I like it but I wonder how Asian folks feel. Not sure of the new name yet but I think people are creating drama.
If a movie had a scene with a Russian Jew saying, ?vats oop? in a thick accent and a Jewish deli opened, called VATSOOP or VHAHTZ OOP (what?s up) I?d laugh and that?s it. It wouldn?t insult my Russian background nor my Jewish ethnicity.
Miso is an Asian ingredient. It?s just a play on words. BUT, if a soul food restaurant opened called WASSUP NI**A, even if black owned, I?d think it was wrong. That usage is okay within the black community but you?ll have white kids saying it to black people, and that?s just wrong.
There is funny, cute and acceptable, then there?s insulting and rude. Society will never agree on what?s acceptable or not. Like porn, some love it but some think it degrades women.
