I don't think anyone is siding with Ball, or the idiot college kids who got busted for something that stupid. The issue is the fact the president is taking the time to bother engaging with this blowhard in the first place. He has much more important things that need to be worked on, much more important people to be engaging with.
Mind you I don't think outrage is the right reaction to this, or most bullshit that hits the news these days however this still highlights how horrible he is at prioritizing his time and how he chooses his battles poorly. This does not win him votes, this makes him a laughing stock to anyone other than his fanatics (which are nowhere near enough to get him re-elected solely)

Mostly, this kind of behavior is a troubling sign of bad character. That should be the thing we're all concerned about. Arguing on twitter is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Trump's fucked up personality.
If the people who have no problem with this type of behavior could understand why it's not good for our president to act this way, they wouldn't be a the general asswipes they already portray themselves as on almost every issue. They're either lost people or just some kind of fucked up performance artists. I'm hoping it the latter because it's scary to think these people are among the rest of us. We're fucking doomed if they breed and teach their children the same shit they do.
