it really illustrates the perpetual circle of violence that torture can bring out in people.
First someone, whether it is a judge, jury, monarch, overlord or whatever has to decide that someone should be punished with torture. Then someone has to create a means of torture that is deemed acceptable, then someone has to carry out the act of such a horrific thing. All that disgusting behavior and that doesn't even include the criminals acts themselves or the mob that believes this to be justice.
