For the non specific adult terms like porn, sex, interracial etc I understand the mixing with non adult, but for the refined searches, give the damn good results.
Just tried again the combination "wife interracial fuck" and page 2 is still filled with Google Books shit. It is clear this has nothing to do with adult filtering, because Page 1 that gets the most of traffic is only filled with adult sites.
In present times, I feel more hate towards Google than ever before, maybe only surpassed by the infamous updates Penguin, Panda etc. In non adult there are many webmasters unhappy with Google's work and the bad communication from Google's part. Time will tell who is right. Sometimes I miss Matt Cutts )

As soon as people or organizations CAN do whatever they want - through monopoly, no competition, getting very big etc. - then they generally do push their interests as far as they can regardless of what their users or the community wants, or, what is best for the users/public.
The entity will proclaim that they are doing everything to create a good USER EXPERIENCE, but that's just PR crap.
What Google (or should I say WE) need is competition for Google. With competition entities start to try to "please" users as much as possible by giving them what they want.
Ex: Tubes - giving content away free.
