but that such a program exists was obvious - UK have that since 30 or 40 years and it is an official program. chinese and russians have it too - not mentioned SETI what is also around more than 30 years and except the "whow - signal" they found nothing.

there is no prove for that yet and all theories around that are the same as the story around Nessy.
IF there have been alien contact i am 1000% sure it would not be restricted to the US - that would not make sense at all and it could not be kept secret for such a long time.
i really do not doubt that there is life elsewhere in the universe but the chance that 2 high tech civilizations living at the same time and find each other is billions of times smaller than finding a special sandkorn on all existing beaches.
