We got infested all right. Those damn Italians. And don't get me started on the Irish.

On one had I am being sarcastic, on the other hand I'm not. In the late 1800s and early 1900s the Italians and the Irish came to the United States in droves. They were discriminated, looked down at, and consisted to be an "infestation". They were segregated to certain parts of the city. Asians too on the West Coast of the United States.

This is no different. Eventually they will be integrated into society.
