What was your fav video editing software from back in the day, and why?

Mine was Pinnacle Studio 7 - Amazing program for the time.

https://www.videomaker.com/article/c...nacle-studio-7

Reason being that you didn't need to capture all your footage from the DV cam to your harddrive. Space was at a premium and it took ages to dump even with firewire.

What it used to do was to create a low rez version of your DV tape and you edited with that. Then, when it came to rendering it would take control of your camera and rewind, fast forward etc etc to just use the bits you wanted !

Amazing at the time, but it came with a secret feature that blew me away ! I actually bought a copy and had the SN and registered it to me. But someone told me to uninstall it, and reinstall agin, but when it asked me for my SN instead of typing 3243-9654-1654... ect, to just fill in all the spaces with sevens... As in studio 7...

So I tried it with 7777-7777-7777... etc, and it accepted it... But when I went in, it had unlocked ALL the premium content that was available to download direct from the pinnacle website itself !

So I did, and had ALL the effects, ALL the filters, ALL the EVERYTHINGS! Would have cost me nearly a thousand or so to get it all, but it was all there for free ! RESULT...

EDIT: OH yeah, and 'Smart Sound' too. It generated royalty free music that fitted in with the movement on screen... How did I forget that?

I loved that little program and it was a great gateway to using adobe premiere, which I started doing after Studio 7 didn't seem quite as up-to-date...

Wat did you start with / enjoy most and why?
