So when people then rightly say that immigration, and in Trumps case racism, played a significant part in their poll success you have to admit that they have a point. In both cases they played a very powerful card.
You can justify it all you want, and yes lots of peeps made a protest vote that they now regret, but if you take the immigration factor out of the populations motivation during the Brexit vote then we stay in the EU.

and 'they now regret'.. lol... same referendum, same tactics from remain, and we vote leave. Those protest votes stay there, and would actually increase if there was ever a 2nd referendum.
'mexicans are rapists'. Now I know for a fact you are brighter than to parrot that line, yet you still do - why would you do that? That's just as bad as brexit claiming that we'd be able to put 30m a week or whatever it was claimed, into the nhs. Bullshit & distortion from all sides, that's another huge problem. Always has been in politics, and doubtful it'll ever end.
And I don't have to 'justify' anything - immigration did indeed prove to be a powerful point, in that most of the working class (including non white nglish) see the results of huge infrastructure problems. They may not even know what infrastructure problems even are, and a lot of them have no idea that it's *also* (not exclusively) due to longer life expectancy. The answer to those people? "you fucking dumb cunt piece of shit racist" <--- great tactic. Those people faced with that response? "you wont listen to us, so fuck you"
Screaming 'Racism' on the part of the noisy far-left did more to create animosity than any actual fucking racism. Call someone a thief when they genuinely aren't, and see the reaction you'll get when trying to get them to come round to any way of your thinking at all.
But, a powerful component does not make 'it was entirely about immigration' anywhere near a fact. The reality is, if remain weren't so far up their own arse, and didn't act intellectually superior (even if they *are* more fucking intelligent) to those they were trying to persuade, then even if every actual racist in the country voted to leave, the vote would have been remain. Actual racists in this country are a fast dying breed, but much like muslim terrorists are seemingly around every corner if you listen to the right-biasedmedia, thanks to those same fuckwits, just on the left rather than right, there's actually a racist who can't wait to 'send the pakis back' lurking 2 places behind you at every supermarket queue you join.
But yeah, dismiss everyone who voted as a racist etc - I do the same when I'm chucking my toys out the pram because things didn't go the way I wanted them to... a quick generalisation, and I feel superior regardless of the outcome.

Again, I'm not very coherent, I do realise that - think about the core points I'm making here, rather than my piss poor delivery, and realise that we tend to look for labels rather than reasons. Or don't, 'discussions' like these, especially on here, generally lead to nothing more than trying to look clever whilst throwing in a few digs, and actually change fuck all (much like the house of commons).
