MrPopup:
In the middle of this, many thousands have been killed or maimed. Water and food in short. Medical supplies are short. Electricity is a joke. US forces are so freaked out they shoot *anything* - that is not a criticism of US forces.
Why is this?? Simple! Because the US decided it could not deal with the international community, but instead declared it was "irrelevant". As "evidence" the US produced "words" which were a combination of lies and deceit. Then proceeded with a "coalition of the willing" and invaded Iraq.
I feel sorry for those who have been killed and their families, both in Iraq and in the US and UK for the sake of a "Bush Doctrine" to impose democracy in Iraq and milk that nations assets.
At no time - ever - has one word been uttered by the current US Admin concerning "peace" - clearly it is a word alien to them.
It is also clear the vast majority of the individuals who make up the US Admin have nada diplomatic skills - including the alledged "President". He only has the ability to utter rhetoric and still, even now, claims "we will prevail". I think not.
There was "some" hope, this still remains, but was dashed by the bombing of the UN base in Iraq when the head of that mission was killed. This person had more ability to aid the Iraqi people than any other in that country - including the US imposed "Provisional Authority" or Bremner.
A government which sends it's troops into a "war" on the basis of deception is clearly a rougue government - not to be trusted by other nations, and isn't. It is unable to manage it's own internal affairs, nevermind handle foreign issues.
Sadly - what you sow you will reap.
