I would argue that today it is easier than ever. Nudity and Porn is alot more acceptable than it was only a few years ago. The cost of good hardware has dropped like crazy. You can shoot high resolution photos and videos for a tenth of the cost as it was in 2008. You have all kinds of powerful editing tools at your fingertips now. Even better, you have instant distribution, instant access to marketing, instant ability to charge your customers for the content.
It's harder because producers never needed access to all the things you now need as essential. the prices for content have dropped to the point where if a producer isn't working up to 3 times a week he's losing money. I could shoot one day a week and make good money.
