No, but then Obama did not use such events to tweet cheap jibes at his perceived political opponents. Like he did with the FBI.
Further I think you will also find that Obama called for increased gun control on numerous occaisions, problem was Obama was fighting the healthcare battle, gun control and the NRA was just too much on top of the pharma/insurance lobby.
