What goes through my mind is that it certainly would encourage interaction and clicks (if even accidental clicks) and following through my though is that not all the thumbs need to lead to the larger pics themselves... Hmmm...
But like I said, and I'm not afraid to admit it, I have never seen that being used on a gallery before, in all my years online...
