singapore has a unique approach to dealing with crime...the first page of a newspaper had a mugshot of a guy who got caught pissing in a building entrance and the other picture was of him being whipped....they printed info about him and how he is a scumbag who pisses on public property etc...
front page stuff...not trump, not world events, not kardashians...but a guy caught pissing...
the next day they printed a front page story about vandalism...there were these 4 lions made out of paper mache...they were like 3-4 meters long and one of the lions got knocked over...I shit you not it was front page news about vandalism and how it is a disgrace and outrage that somebody would do this to a public display...the lions were really pretty I went to see them the next day LOL
this is why they have such control over crime...public awareness and focus...
I think they are going to far with punishing non violent crime...but for violent criminals I think this is a god send...whipping + positive, non political, public brain wash...
