It could never happen for two reasons.
1. Russia has zero interest in invading or occupying the US
2. USA has zero interest in invading or occupying Russia
For forty years it has been nothing but flexing bullshit and its practically embarrassing either nation still wastes money on such arms these days as no other nation has any interest in invading them either.
