It's up to you. There are alot of movies released in IMAX every year. If a Marvel movie isn't your thing, just wait until the next movie. All action and sci-fi movies are always available in IMAX now.
If you really want to see the technology at its very best, then YES, Infinity War is the one to see. The main reason is that this is one of the few movies shot completely with IMAX cameras and in the IMAX format. [

This is always an expensive process so not alot of movies do this. Some movies like The Dark Knight and Transformers : Dark Side of the Moon, use IMAX Cameras for certain scenes only. Other movies like Star Wars, reformat certain scenes for IMAX. When this happens, the size of the screen gets taller and shorter between scenes (from 1.85:1 or 2.35:1 to 1.43:1) . Surprisingly though, this isn't distracting at all, and works really well, for me anyway. I think it ads dramatic effect, but I'm not sure.
Some advice: If you don't care about 3D and your time is flexible, try to buy tickets for the 2D version instead. 3D, even on IMAX, almost always still sucks. The only recent exception might be "Gravity".
